Event Description

In this two day virtual workshop participants will learn how to connect brain and learning sciences to virtual teaching and learning experiences that support academic, social and emotional learning for ALL students.  Educators will gain insight into the science behind how students learn and be given practical and proven skills to engage students in virtual and in-person settings.

 

  • Friday 4:00-7:00
    • Topic 1 - Impact of stress on learning: understanding stress and its effects on the brain that limit learning
    • Topic 2 - Cultivate classroom connections: leverage positive brain chemicals that create safety, build relationships and drive motivation 
  • Saturday 9:00-12:00
    • Topic 3 - Reticular Activating System (the brain's attention filter): Understand it and activate it to increase student engagement
